Gosho Persimmon

Gosho holds genuine historical significance in persimmon breeding: real academic research on persimmon genetics documents it as the very first pollination-constant non-astringent (PCNA) type cultivar ever recorded, dating back to the 17th century in Japan — centuries before Fuyu and Jiro, the varieties that eventually became far more commercially dominant, were developed.
